    Hello,

I am currently working with the osPID for a school project. I have to control an Industrial oven with it but I don’t know if the inputs and the ouputs are enough. So far I am connecting a thermistor, resistor and a K type thermocouple to the input card. And with the output I need to control a relay and a SSR. I also need to connect somehow a current transformer to the input card but I don’t have more room. If anyone has any ideas or has connected a kitchen oven with the osPID, I would appreciate some help. Any info if they have made expansion cards? I read somewhere they are developing them, and might be for sale soon. Anything that I could do to hack it could help. I will post what I complete here later on. Thanks in advance.

the input card has some hackable inputs (3 analog, 2 digital.) Maybe those would suit your needs?

Thanks for the help. So, if I understand correctly; if I hack one of those inputs I could connect another component such as a current transformer (besides the already two connected thermocouple and thermistors). I guess I should rephrase my question to this: If I hack the input card, can I have it receive input from three different components? Thanks in advance this is really helpful.

right. those available pins are ones we didn’t use (with the exception of vref, 5V and ground. you’d be using those in parallel with the other inputs.) provided you don’t draw a ton of current, and there isn’t a large amount of extra code on the firmware side, you should be ok.
