I work at a waste water facility and we are currently unhappy with our current chlorine dosage controller. I’m not sure about it’s capabilities but it is a Hydro Instruments 220 if you know anything about it. I’m thinking about trying my hand with the osPID, but am wondering will the osPID take 4-20mA as input from a residual analyzer and output 4-20mA for VFD control? Has anyone tried using this in the way i’m looking at? Any and all input is welcome as well as any guidance that can be given!

Ok, since there are 19 views and no responces. Is it possible to use this to control Chlorine residual using a 4-20ma flow input and a 4-20ma residual input to create a compound loop. the cycle time on my chlorine analyzers is 120seconds, i can lower that to as small as 10seconds at the expense of reagent.

Hi Chuck, sorry this thread slipped through the cracks. the osPID currently does not support 4-20mA on the input or output side, although there are plans in the works for both of those. no idea on timeline though.
