    Can anyone guide me in the right direction on wiring up my IR 250w plate to osPID and a Fotek SSR and to main power I am a noob at this kind of stuff here is how far I have got to http://img23.imageshack.us/i/imageqdjr.jpg/

    I’m sure someone will step in with a ospid specific answer, but it looks from your picture that you have that side of things covered.

    When wiring the hotplate the SSR acts like a switch, so you’d wire up the hot plate to the mains as normal, but with the SSR on either the live or neutral wires.

    but with the SSR on either the live or neutral wires.

    it’s safer to put the SSR on the live wire. this way the flow of electricity is interrupted BEFORE it goes out into the hot plate. if you have it on the neutral wire, the hot plate has the ability to shock/short-circuit even when the SSR is off.
