    Hi people, I’m new here.

    I have an osPID and a K-type thermocouple (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003V8BF2U/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details#productDetails)

I want to do a couple of things with my osPID:

    1. I want to log temperature data from my aquarium over a couple of days (I think the temperature is rising massively during the day because of direct sunlight)
    2. the second part of the project will be to drive a heating element off the osPID for ultra stable temps.

I am totally new to the world of electronics, I know how a relay works and that’s about it.
I really need a hand with this, I don’t want to electrocute myself or destroy any equipment.

I don’t know if this thermocouple is even meant to go in water, it has a post it note on the back from the shop that says “immersion probe” but other listings with the same part number say “for contact temperature measurement”

PLEASE HELP – it can’t be that hard to set up a temperature logger?
